Garth Porter, keyboardist and songwriter, was half the brains behind 'Howzat', 'Summer Love' and 'Cassandra' as well as many tracks now lost in obscurity like 'I Wanna Lay With You', 'Handy Mandy' and 'Free the Sailor'. Porter describes Sherbet's evolution into Highway and The Sherbs as 'a messy metamorphosis' but believes that the band got better towards the end of its career, when the strains of superstardom had diminished. 'Have you ever wanted to know what it is like to be on the bottom of a rugby scrum with 60 girls on top of you?' he asks. 'Well, I know. It was at one of our gigs when we ran out to leave, but I forgot something and had to run back to the dressing room, only to emerge later and find all the security gone. I was immediately swamped and had all of these girls on top of me going: "Get some of his hair, get some of his shirt." It was really frightening and it took me a long time to get over it.'
