David Moore was a photographer who helped to establish the Australian Centre for Photography in Sydney with colleague Wesley Stacey. As a photographer he made an important contribution to the visual arts in Australia and has held about 32 solo exhibitions, 1953-92, including Macquarie, Sydney; Museum of Modern Art, 1959, Christine Abrahams, Melbourne. In 1988 the Art Gallery of New South Wales held a major retrospective exhibition of his work which toured. His work has appeared in a number of published books 1962-92 and several monographs including 'David Moore', Richmond Press, 1971.
