National Photographic Portrait Prize 2016 Finalist
Rew Hanks is a Sydney based printmaker who produces witty and engaging large-scale linocuts. He gathers his imagery like a bowerbird, collating historical, popular culture and environmental issues such as the conflict between introduced and native species. In this photograph he poses like one of the subjects of his narratives, wearing his cane toad vest as he hunts for new imagery viewed through a wry and satirical lens.
