National Photographic Portrait Prize 2014 Finalist
Peter O'Doherty is a musician, songwriter and artist. In this portrait he sits resolute under the glow from a bowling club exit sign. it looks posed, planned even, but it isn't. It's a snap, spontaneous and raw. Pete's art speaks for itself. I've never heard him 'explain' his pictures or songs. It seems like he's saying, 'You either get it or you don't.' I hope this picture reflects that grit and self-assuredness.
