National Photographic Portrait Prize 2011 Finalist
Treated to a beautiful late summer sunset in Fremantle, Western Australia, I suggested an impromptu shoot with my wife and daughter, Hayley Mcelhinney and Betty Nolte. Most of the frames, shot on HP5 with my trusty 60s Hi-Matic 7s, are light and playful but at one point, I asked Hayley to stand still and look straight down the lens. At the same moment, Betty curled away from me, into her mother and I made this photograph.
