National Photographic Portrait Prize 2011 Finalist
This is an image of my 17-year-old daughter Billie Julien. Billie is in year 12 final exams and is very excited about the prospect of 'finally' being free. She is passionate about what this new found freedom will bring. The concept of not knowing what the future will bring is so exciting to her. She is excited about this gift of freedom as she is about the gift in her hands.
The NPPP exhibition is selected from a national field of entries. The annual exhibition, now in its fourth year, reflects the distinctive vision of Australia's aspiring and professional portrait photographers and the unique nature of their subjects.
