National Photographic Portrait Prize 2026 Finalist
‘I photographed Australian author Bri Lee in my studio, creating a portrait that feels quiet and painterly. Known for her incisive prose and public voice, I sought her inward gaze – a contemplative presence that mirrors the interior world of her work: thoughtful, composed and quietly resolute.’
Saskia Wilson is a photographer who lives and works on Gadigal and Bidjigal Land in Sydney. She uses digital and analogue photographic techniques to explore the ephemerality and emotional dimension of image making.
The People’s Choice Award is generously supported by the Calvert-Jones Foundation, with the artist who wins the most votes receiving $10,000.
Voting closes Wednesday 30 September 2026.
