National treasure, Tina Arena AM, is set to celebrate a remarkable 50 years in the music industry. In honour of her dedication, talent and incredible achievements, the National Portrait Gallery has commissioned a new portrait by renowned fashion photographer Georges Antoni.
On view from Saturday September 6, Bree Pickering, Director of the National Portrait Gallery said the portrait captures the grace and grit that have enabled Tina to forge such an exceptional career. ‘To survive and thrive for five decades in the global music industry takes courage, talent and determination. Georges Antoni’s stunning diptych captures Tina’s artistry and heritage as well as her powerful presence as a performer. This portrait will astound audiences and hold the legacy of an extraordinary Australian in the National Portrait Collection into the future,’ she said.
