Story time – Fashionista

Reading with author, Maxine Beneba Clarke

Friday 26 November 2021
Live online
Fashionista by Maxine Beneba Clarke

How do you express with your dress? What do you share through your clothes and hair? We are excited to welcome poet, author and illustrator Maxine Beneba Clarke to read Fashionista to us this Story time. This seriously stylish story celebrates how we all communicate with our clothes and can have fun with our fashion! After the reading, join us in some cool craft activities – tailored just for you!

Check your cupboards and delve in your drawers for…

  • A favourite toy that you can draw around (a soft toy, doll, or figurine will work best for our activity)
  • A piece of paper large enough to fit your toy on (so you can trace around it)
  • If your toy is big, you can even join smaller pieces of paper together or use the blank side of some thick wrapping paper
  • A thick marker or crayon
  • A selection of collage papers – wrapping paper, magazines
  • Decorations. Collect fabric, ribbons, yarn, buttons, sequins – a bit of bling!
  • Scissors (remember to ask for help with these if you need it!)
  • Sticky tape and/or glue

Made possible with funds donated by Tim Fairfax AC.
