Biography
Saul Solomon (1836–1929) had a studio in Main Road, Ballarat from 1857 to 1862, and worked in partnership with William Bardwell at 29 Sturt Street, Ballarat until 1874.

Biography
Sir Frederick Darley GCMG (1830-1910), chief justice and lieutenant governor, came to New South Wales as an adult and was admitted to the Bar in 1862; in 1868 he was nominated to the Legislative Council.
