I met Clara while teaching photomedia at the University of Tasmania last year. One of her assignments focused on her relationship with her former boyfriend, who she now works for as his live-in carer.
Catherine Helen Spence (1825-1910), writer and reformer, came to South Australia aged 14 and began her career with a number of pioneering novels, including Clara Morison (1854).
Ernest Walter Histed was born in Brighton, UK, but made his reputation as a photographer in Chicago and later in Pittsburgh.
