UK-born, Brisbane-based artist Tish Linehan (b. 1983) gained her undergraduate degree in visual arts from the Australian National University and subsequently completed a teaching qualification. A specialist in works on paper, Linehan's practice encompasses sculpture as well as painting and is focussed predominantly on portraiture and figurative work with an interest in exploring nature and the complexities of human experience. Linehan has been a finalist in the Brisbane Portrait Prize each year since its inception – with a portrait of singer Katie Noonan (2019); a self portrait (2020); and the portrait of Cate and Bronte Campbell (2021), which was awarded the Sylvia Jones Prize for women artists. Linehan held her first solo exhibition in 2017, and she has been exhibiting in group exhibitions since 2016.
