Following the success of Glossy: Faces, Magazines, Now in 1999 the National Portrait Gallery again highlights the huge array of contemporary portraiture in the pages of magazines.

EL1 Senior Curator

Reporting to the Director, Curatorial and Collection, the Senior Curator will play a critical role in the strategic direction of the organisation. They will curate exhibitions across the Gallery’s programming areas, including onsite, touring and online; implement and extend the Gallery’s collection development goals through acquisitions and commissions; and engage and grow audiences through diverse interpretation strategies.

In the earliest stages of the Great War, the Royal Pavilion in Brighton was turned into a military hospital, and arrangements made there to accommodate the different dietary and other requirements of Hindu, Sikh and Muslim patients.
