Adelaide of Saxe-Coburg Meiningen (1792–1849) was the consort of King William IV of England. Her marriage to William was arranged in 1818, following the death of William’s niece, Princess Charlotte, the only legitimate heir to the British throne. William acceded to the throne in 1830 on the death of his brother, George IV. Adelaide died childless in 1849.
