H Parker Rolfe was a professional photographer and teacher who operated from various premises in Philadelphia from the 1890s to the 1910s. He appears to have specialised in architectural photography, producing images of churches, hospitals, libraries and other public buildings, and was also commissioned by colleges including Bryn Mawr and the University of Pennsylvania. Consequently, Rolfe’s output included portraits of sporting teams and athletes as well as the documentation of sporting events and university theatrical productions. Examples of his work are held in a number of university and historical society collections in Pennsylvania.
