David Warren graduated from RMIT in 1964, after which he taught for some twenty years at the Prahran School of Art, RMIT and Ballarat CAE. He held his first solo exhibition in Hobart in 1965; it was followed by a drawing show at Gallery A Sydney in 1967. For the next eighteen years he participated in many group shows, but rarely exhibited on his own. Since 1988 he has held solo exhibitions every couple of years, often at Robin Gibson in Sydney and Charles Nodrum in Melbourne. His work is held in the National Gallery of Australia, the AGWA and several regional galleries.
