Anna Sande is a Victorian painter, photographer, curator and writer. With qualifications in art history and political science from the University of Melbourne, she was co-founder and joint co-ordinator of the Women's Art Register Extension Project, established at Carringbush Library in 1977 and now a substantial reference resource on women’s art work. Her exhibitions include Persia and other Asias (2011) in Geelong; Iran – Two Faces (2007) at the Ararat Regional Gallery; and Commitment (2003), comprising thirty portraits and shown at the Baillieu Library of the University of Melbourne. Since painting the portrait of Watson she has written a number of exhibition catalogues and freelance articles for the Age, Craft Victoria, and Art Monthly on line and contributed to the cyberfibres online register of Australian fashion and textile design.
