Living Memory Finalist
Tex Perkins is typical of the many musicians in Australia – the Covid-19 pandemic has decimated the music and arts industries, with the last year challenging artists to find new methods of connecting with their audiences. This has seen a lot of playing to empty venues; live streaming 'virtual' concerts and festivals; and, when performances were allowed to resume, drastically reduced audience sizes and seated-only venues. Musicians and audiences feed off each other's energy, so this has meant gigs are a very different experience for both.
