National Photographic Portrait Prize 2018 Finalist
Shaymaa Abdullah, a proud Noongar woman from Western Australia, is a descendant of Muslim cameleers from Afghanistan. She lives in Sydney's western suburbs and is currently studying to be a commercial pilot. Shaymaa sits in her lounge room with her cats, Cassie and Grumpy.
The exhibition is selected from a national field of entries, reflecting the distinctive vision of Australia's aspiring and professional portrait photographers and the unique nature of their subjects.
