National Photographic Portrait Prize 2015 Finalist
Ann and Sophie Cape are mother and daughter. Both striking women, both artists. Ann has been a finalist in the Archibald, Portia Geach, Moran and Dobell. Sophie journeyed from extreme athlete, which left her body broken, to an artist with a passion to match her sporting past. She was winner of the Figure Drawing Prize at The National Art School in 2010, awarded by John Olsen, and a finalist in the Portia Geach from 2009 to 2012. Again in 2014, Ann was a finalist in the Moran Portrait Prize. Both are finalists in the Portia Geach Award, Sophie being named as ‘winner’.
The National Photographic Portrait Prize exhibition is selected from a national field of entries, reflecting the distinctive vision of Australia's aspiring and professional portrait photographers and the unique nature of their subjects.
