National Photographic Portrait Prize 2013 Finalist
For six decades, Burt Bacharach has contributed to the careers of the world’s musical greats. He has sung, played and composed with Frank Sinatra, Aretha Franklin, Elvis Costello and The Beatles, to name a few. I had the privilege of documenting this musical legend on his last Australian tour ‘Farewell to symphonies’. This portrait was taken backstage after his last performance to a mesmerised Sydney Opera House crowd.
The National Photographic Portrait Prize exhibition is selected from a national field of entries that reflect the distinctive vision of Australia's aspiring and professional portrait photographers and the unique nature of their subjects.
