National Photographic Portrait Prize 2013 Finalist
Stephanie Calkin and Steve Jones are owners of Gallery Serpentine Australia's largest corsetiere and locally-made clothing line specialising in corsets, Victorian, burlesque and vintage clothing. They created a one-stop shop for Sydney's alternative community. Steve is a big collector of vintage synthesizers as well; he worked as a seasoned programmer for INXS’s ‘Switch’ world tour. This portrait is created using a wet plate collodion process.
The National Photographic Portrait Prize exhibition is selected from a national field of entries that reflect the distinctive vision of Australia's aspiring and professional portrait photographers and the unique nature of their subjects.
