National Photographic Portrait Prize 2011 Finalist
Andrew Hodges, who suffered an acquired brain injury when he was 15, is assisted in his regular exercise routine by his father, Ken. Although he remains sharply intelligent, Andrew requires constant assistance and care, much of which comes from his ageing parents. This photo is part of a series in partnership with Kickstart Arts and Headway, documenting the stories of an inspiring group of Tasmanians living with acquired brain injuries.
The NPPP exhibition is selected from a national field of entries. The annual exhibition, now in its fourth year, reflects the distinctive vision of Australia's aspiring and professional portrait photographers and the unique nature of their subjects.
