‘This work of long-term friends Pat and Alan comes from a collection of images displayed in small sequences. The camera remains static and repeatedly captures a scene from one angle, while the subjects move around the room, trying to enact the same pose over and over.’

Madeline Bishop is a Naarm/Melbourne-based photographer whose work is conceptually centred around personal dynamics and the persistent tension between distance
and closeness.
