National Photographic Portrait Prize 2023 Finalist
Matjangka is an Anangu artist from the Anangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara (APY) lands in South Australia. Her paintings feature a range of subjects, almost always relating to Country and the environment, including the constellations and bush foods. She is a lively and energetic woman and is well known for her dramatic performances of the Minyma Mamu Inma, where she portrays the 'monster' woman.
The exhibition is selected from a national field of entries, reflecting the distinctive vision of Australia's aspiring and professional portrait photographers and the unique nature of their subjects.
