My Awesome Australian: Online exhibition

My Awesome Australian by Iris (8-11 years, VIC)

Drawing, Pencil
My Awesome Australian
For this artwork, I created a lively pencil drawing of Don Farrell, inspired by the energetic and imaginative doodle style found in the Tom Gates books. I chose pencil because it’s a flexible, expressive tool that let me sketch freely and capture quick, creative ideas. I used playful shapes, bold lines, and scattered text elements to bring movement and personality into the piece. The loose, cartoon-like style helped me show Don Farrell in a more relatable, humorous way.
