My Awesome Australian Fran by Jana (12-15 years, NSW)

Drawing
My Awesome Australian Fran
This year, a big change happened to our neighbourhood. My neighbour Emeritus Professor Fran Christie passed away in July, leaving us with memories of her laughter, chatter, wisdom, kindness, and also with her cat Milo. Along with her Citizenship Award received in 2018 for her fine contribution to our local community, I would also want to give her the ‘Best Neighbour in Lane Cove’ award. Hopefully with this portrait created in her favourite colour, I am able to pay back even a small fraction of what she had done for us, and to share her spirit with the others.
