Ring-tail Possum at Night, 2021

5-7 years

I painted Ring-tail Possum at night during lockdown. I missed my friends in Kindergarten Possums, and I love to paint animals. So, I painted our class mascot and shared it with my teacher and my friends on Zoom. I like to paint with paintbrushes, my fingers, and other objects. In this painting I printed a leaf from our garden and used a stick to draw details. One day I would like to open my own zoo, and I hope my paintings will help protect animals, and show people how to love them, just like I do.

Little Darlings Youth Portrait Prize 2022

Previous exhibition, 2022

Little Darlings is for primary and secondary students, with four separate categories across Kindergarten to Year 12. Responding to the theme ‘identity’, students painted, drew, photographed, printed or combined all of these to make their portrait.
