Living Memory Finalist
The logging of Tasmania's old growth forests continued under exemption during the nationwide Covid-19 lockdown in 2020. After months of staying at home, Anna Brozek went to the Wentworth Hills near Lake St Clair on the edge of Tasmania's World Heritage Area and climbed high up into cable logging machinery, where she stayed for two days and nights on a hanging platform. She was eventually arrested and fined for her actions. She continues to take peaceful action to bring attention to the logging of native forests in Tasmania.
