National Photographic Portrait Prize 2020 Finalist
This year I had the pleasure of travelling to Sicily with artist Regina Pilawuk Wilson, to work on a documentary about her trip and the subsequent visit of Sicilian artists to her community of Peppimenarti in the Northern Territory. On this day we visited the Sicilian town of Nuova Gibellina, and its amazing architecture. Regina is in front of the Chiesa Madre Cathedral, and its orb. The original Gibellina was knocked down in an earthquake in 1968, and replaced by this beautiful but empty town.
The exhibition is selected from a national field of entries, reflecting the distinctive vision of Australia's aspiring and professional portrait photographers and the unique nature of their subjects.
