National Photographic Portrait Prize 2020 Finalist
On a special trip back home to Wadjigany country, family and friends gathered to perform a Kapuk ceremony (rag-burning/smoking ceremony) for my late mum and dad. Kapuk is a time of letting go and cleansing, but also a time of happiness. Family gathered, including gorgeous girl Alithia – who preferred to hang in the trees while everyone was preparing for the traditional ceremony.
