National Photographic Portrait Prize 2018 Finalist
This is a photograph of Ish, from a series titled Engagements with Twilight. Twilight is an ephemeral, transitional moment in time – an intimate engagement with the immediacy, power and sublimity of natural forces. The threshold and tenuous grip we have on life propels me to investigate the fragility of existence and reality. My work explores the tension of a loss of place and loss of self-identity, a distancing and detachment.
The exhibition is selected from a national field of entries, reflecting the distinctive vision of Australia's aspiring and professional portrait photographers and the unique nature of their subjects.
