National Photographic Portrait Prize 2015 Finalist
This portrait of brothers, Beau and Leon, is the realisation of an endearing personal memory and an iconic moment in time to which many can relate: evenings spent with siblings, whiling away the hours till sunset, with whatever sporting activity took your fancy. A moment where any suburban setting can become transformed into a packed arena. Beau and Leon are the embodiment of a carefree age, where strong foundations of individuality have been laid, yet answers to many questions lay far ahead. One such evening we paused post-game to capture this portrait that, for me, encapsulated this moment clearly.
The National Photographic Portrait Prize exhibition is selected from a national field of entries, reflecting the distinctive vision of Australia's aspiring and professional portrait photographers and the unique nature of their subjects.
