National Photographic Portrait Prize 2014 Finalist
I met Danny when I was shooting the winners of Volunteer of the Year. What struck me was his commitment to providing care. He was as a paramedic before an accident left him unable to work. That didn't stop him though. He volunteers for the St John Ambulance Service and the Uniting Church. He provides first aid services and classes to the public as well as being Superintendent of the Singleton Cadet Division where he teaches discipline, parade drill, and first aid, and has been a key person in changing so many young people's lives.
The National Photographic Portrait Prize exhibition is selected from a national field of entries that reflect the distinctive vision of Australia's aspiring and professional portrait photographers and the unique nature of their subjects.
