Adalita Srsen, 2013

by Anita Beaney

National Photographic Portrait Prize 2014 Finalist

In a world that is moving fast with digital technology, I prefer to adopt a considered pace. I love "old" photographic processes and chose a Linhoff 5 x 4 field camera, to take this shot of Adalita. Formerly the lead singer of "Magic Dirt" she now has a successful solo career. Whilst getting to know her I was struck by her beauty- in her appearance, voice and quietly strong character. I find in our society we are exposed to many images; dignified images of women often lacking. I hope I can contribute to a remedy.
