National Photographic Portrait Prize 2014 Finalist
Andrew is one of the trapeze artists at Avalon Circus, a professional, community and youth circus based in Newcastle. I was welcomed into their space to take photos as they mingled and prepared for the evening show. Circumstances made Andrew Ring Master on the previous night and he did such a good job that it was decided he should continue. I captured Andrew's pensiveness as he waited patiently backstage, gathering his thoughts and words to commemorate ANZAC Day at the opening of that evening's performance. He was giving the eyeliner a go for the first time that night.
