National Photographic Portrait Prize 2010 Finalist
Annabel Mazotti and her daughter Lola were in the process of building their dream home, by hand, in Muskvale, Victoria when the bushfires came. Using a broad sweeping gesture with her arm, Annabel built an imaginary shield to protect her property. This photograph was taken on the border, where the shield did its work.
The National Photographic Portrait Prize is an annual event intended to promote the very best in contemporary photographic portraiture by both professional and aspiring Australian photographers.
