I photographed myself each day for twenty eight days, attempting to create a self portrait that examined emotion and its performance. I photographed myself when I was feeling a strong emotion, I recorded my feelings and the time of day, however I always attempted to show a neutral face. The viewer is invited to study and compare the faces and search for glimpses of expression. Photography’s history is based in creating documents such as mug shots or medical records and this is what I wanted the viewer to have in mind when looking at the work.
