For the last two years I have explored the theme of claustrophobia in the suburbs. This self portrait is based around ideas of being woken up. The photograph represents vulnerability yet at the same time it represents power and strength. I placed myself in front of a fence in the centre of the photo and had water teemed on my face, portraying an awakening from being trapped and controlled.
