I, Goghbot, 2010

Based on a true story, I, Goghbot is a self portrait as Vincent Van Gogh's Self Portrait with Bandaged Ear, as appropriated by popular trash culture. In an age in which cinema and television retellings of historical events and autobiography are popular, I feel that a lot of the meaning is lost in translation. Essentially the portrait represents the loss of historical romanticism within Gen-X and Gen-Y.
