Year 10, Melba Copland Secondary School ACT
spray enamel and oil on canvas
My piece is a self-reflection of me as an artist. I wanted it to be a dedication to Art, and a thank-you for the way it lets me express myself. The heart in my hands represents my love and passion for what I do and what I am good at. The tools I use to create my pieces – spray cans, pencils and brushes– are scattered throughout the graffiti. The heart is a stencil, the background is graffiti and the portrait is in oil paint, all the different media I love to use.
