The story of my life, 2010

by Leona Kosowicz

The story of my life, 2010

Year 11, Wedderburn P-12 College Vic
mixed media

This piece explores self representation through symbolism. While creating this piece, I focussed on six key aspects that I felt were representative of me: nature, growing up, literature, music, optimism and my caravan. Each part of the piece embodies an aspect of my life. The pocket watch shows my time of birth and each volume symbolises a year in my life. The open book signifies the present and the future, and I have shown change and growth through the use of organic materials collected from my property. I have also incorporated quotes and images from Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland, a favourite childhood story.
