Year 11, Bradfield Senior College NSW
digital print
This portrait uses a triptych format to explore and express the subject through different poses. The warm lighting, deep colour palette, and the positioning of the light source are reminiscent of seventeenth-century Dutch masters such as Vermeer. Some art historians believe Vermeer may have employed the camera obscura in his painting. The subtle inclusion of graffiti tags in the background, and the digital SLR medium itself, contemporises this portrait of a teenage student.
