Ken telling a story, radiating glory 2024
oil, synthetic polymer paint and aerosol on canvas

‘I sat with Ken as he leaned into one of his many amazing stories, with a confidence and smile mustered from years of experience on this earth. He told a story that I had heard before on a podcast, read in a book or saw on TV but, sitting in the presence of greatness, who am I to stop him? Ken Done and I, while operating in different realms of the art world, share a common thread in our artistic practices, both traversing the boundaries between the commercial and contemporary art spheres. Ken Done’s legacy serves as a beacon for aspiring creators and enthusiasts alike.’

Claudio Kirac is an artist living and working on the Lands of the Kombumerri families of the Yugambeh language region, Gold Coast. Kirac’s practice is focused on mixed media works that explore shared experience, nostalgia, harmony and equilibrium, and the crossover between analogue and digital processes, contemporary art and popular culture.
