oil on canvas

‘I have known Girramay/Yidinji/Kuku Yalanji artist Tony Albert from being around the Meanjin/Brisbane art scene for many years. I’ve always admired his work, his ability to work deftly across media and genres. I asked him to sit for me in the smothering heat. I concentrated on his face because it is a clear expression of his strong character and determination.’

Keith Burt is a Meanjin/Brisbane-based artist whose portraits are driven by an interrogation of the face and a desire to capture the intangible.
