Darling Portrait Prize 2024 Finalist
Morgan Stokes
born Australia 1990
Jordan Dalah 2023
watercolour on linen
‘Jordan Dalah is a wild, wild fashion designer who has this singular, dramatic vision which I respect and admire. He’s also a good friend. Since the two of us share an interest in material and materiality, I wanted to foreground the tooth of the linen and at the same time capture him in a more subdued way.’
Morgan Stokes is an artist living and working on Gadigal Land in Sydney. Through a conceptual approach to painting and sculpture, his work explores our existence in, and perception of, the physical world.
