‘Joy is about finding the positive nourishment within one’s self and others which, in a safe and healing environment, allows you to stand as your original self. It allows you to stop time – and stop chasing after society’s view of being great – just to take a deep breath as your true self no matter the situation you are put in. That is JOY, that is being yourself. The names of the models are Dut, Tana and Laurancio.’

Ethiopian-born, Naarm/Melbourne-based Daniel Temesgen is a portrait photographer whose work aims to connect with his surroundings and showcase the beauty of culture and diversity.
