Zambian-born dance instructor, choreographer and youth worker Mwaba Mubanga is the Director of Perth-based Afrofusion dance company Mubanga Culture.

‘It was only after I migrated to Australia and was battling feelings of loneliness, isolation and cultural identity confusion that I rediscovered my rich African culture through my deep love for dance. African dance fosters social closeness, promotes community, connectedness and healing. Here, the individual sees themselves as belonging to a group in a positive and harmonising way.’
