The 2022 Eastern Australia floods were one of the nation's worst recorded natural disasters. Intense rainfall quickly broke riverbanks, swamped roads, claimed homes, businesses and lives.
Ty and Jake paddle down Strong Avenue on a journey to find a friend's passport. That morning they'd rescued another friend's puppies. Graceville was one of the many affected Brisbane suburbs. The damage was widespread. As people started to emerge from shelter, Queenslanders began one of the biggest recovery operations in the state's history.
In reality, human-caused climate change is warming the atmosphere, oceans and intensifying heavy rainfall events like this.
