Senior Wiradjuri Elder Peter Peckham, owner of First Lesson Cultural Tours, focuses on sharing local Wiradjuri language and culture. The Wiradjuri are the largest Aboriginal group in the beautiful central west of New South Wales, occupying the plains west of the Blue Mountains in an area spanning the Wambuul/Macquarie River, the Kalare/Lachlan River and the Murrumbidgee River. They are known for their possum skin cloaks stitched traditionally from several possum furs by kangaroo sinew and decorated using ochre. Peter's Aboriginal Culture Tours invite both Indigenous and non-Indigenous people to connect with Country, recognise and learn about First Nations culture.
